One perspective on the Pandemic

A pragmatic approach

pandemic

It’s easy to get overwhelmed with the barrage of warnings, debate and constant information in the media. How is someone who is trusting the Lord supposed to look at it?

Let’s try to look at some of the controversial questions people are wrestling with and see what our response might be. There are different scenarios going around.

Either the virus occurred naturally, or it was manufactured in a lab.

If it occurred of so-called natural causes, it could be classified as one of the pestilences that was foretold. ~ Mat. 24:7; Rev.11:6

If it was manufactured in a lab and escaped by accident due to lax security, it could also be classified as one of the pestilences that was predicted for the latter days.

If the virus was released upon the population of the world due to sinister plans of population decimation and world control, as some speculate, it might still be a fulfillment of what was promised and fulfilling the verse, “evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.” ~ 2 Tim 3:13

Either way, for a person of faith it doesn’t matter much how it came about, the fact remains the pandemic is here and we are in the Lord’s hands.

There are lots of promises to hold on to, here are just a few...

“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” ~ John 16:33

"And in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and plagues..." ~ Luke 7:21a

“They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.” ~ Mark 16:18

“I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” ~ Matthew 28:20 b

I think a reasonable approach could be to pray and trust the Lord, do what we can, live peaceably with all men, and use common sense for our individual situation.

What do you think?
