Love, joy, peace, patience
It's just as simple as Salvation
Ask and you shall receive!"
Before Jesus ascended to Heaven, He promised to send the Holy Spirit to His followers, to strengthen and guide them in their spiritual lives and relationship with God, and to remain with them always.
The Holy Spirit guides believers into all truth, helps them to understand God's Word, assists them in prayer, and empowers them to share Jesus with others. Any believer can receive the infilling of the Holy Spirit, simply by asking God for it. The Holy Spirit's presence may be manifested in believers' lives through different spiritual gifts such as wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing, miracles, and prophecy. ~ 1Cor.12:8-11
Everyone who has ever received Jesus into his heart has received a measure of the Holy Spirit, "being born again of the Spirit". (John 3:8) But to receive the full anointing or infilling, or what the Bible calls "baptism" of the Holy Spirit, is sometimes a separate experience that happens after you have received Jesus.
"Have you received the Holy Ghost since you believed?" (Acts 19:2) Have you received this overflowing power of God's Love in your own life since you received Jesus?
All you have to do is ask, Jesus said so! "Ask and it shall be given you, seek and ye shall find, knock and it shall be opened unto you!" (Matthew 7:7) - Just like when you received Jesus into your heart, you knew He came in because the Bible said He would! (Revelation 3:20)
If the baptism of the Holy Spirit is anything, it is a baptism of love. And once you have that outgoing concern and love in your heart, you will just naturally want to reach out to others in love and bold compassion. It's such a beautiful, liberating experience to forget yourself, forget the opinions of others, and to feel Jesus loving others through you.
Receive God's Spirit of Love and power now by simply praying this little prayer:
"Dear Jesus, I love You, and know that I need more of Your Love and Power in my life. So I ask You to please fill me with Your Holy Spirit right now, to give me the strength to truly follow You and tell others about You and Your Love! In Jesus' name I pray, amen!"
PS: It's my understanding that once you have asked Jesus into your life you are born again forever! You don't have to do that ever again. Jesus doesn't leave you once you have accepted Him. (John 10:28) We may stray at times, but He is faithful to His promise and He keeps Hid word (2 Tim. 2:13).
You can talk to Jesus about anything! And if you listen to that still small voice in your heart you will learn to recognize His voice. It's my experience that if you do what He tells you things always work out.
