How difficult it is to know what the truth really is! Obviously there's a war of words going on - a propaganda war!
This kind of truth is perishing... mis-direction or persuasion is not limited to one country or political conviction. Everybody is using some sort of "social engineering" to condition people to think a certain way and to create stereotypes, likes and dislikes etc. as explained in another lengthier paper, "Media's Use of Propaganda to Persuade People's Attitude, Beliefs and Behaviors."
It seems to me that the West is much more sophisticated in opinion molding. Take some of the TV series or Hollywood movies. There is rarely an "expose" or documentary without an agenda. Some of these TV series about politics or foreign affairs or spy CIA/FBI episodes are really well done and captivating with good actors and heart warming engaging characters. But while watching you are simultaneously being programmed to think a certain way. It's very sophisticated and clever.
People form their opinion according to whom they listen to. If you don't have a good solid foundation in the Word and have strong personal convictions and are anchored in the Lord it's easy to be "blown about with every wind of doctrine." ~ Ephesians 4:14.
I recently saw a movie about a singer named Hank Williams. The movie is called, "I saw the Light". Sadly the movie was more like a character assassination than a tribute to a man who wrote some wonderful songs about the Lord. Even Wikipedia - another opinion-creator - barely mentions his Gospel songs. I don't mean to promote Hank Williams, and I don't mean to minimize his problems or sins, but when listening to some of his songs on YouTube I was thrilled to hear a wonderful Gospel message along with his other acclaimed numbers.
It's all part of a mounting misleading and general confusion, people get disoriented and don't know what to believe - Jeremiah 7:28 says "truth is perished". All of this is a persistent gradual downward slope of unsettling fear-inducing uncertainty. We know of course who is ultimately the one inspiring it, John 8:44. Because we know the Lord is not the author of confusion. ~ 1 Corinthians 14:33
The word "confusion" brings to mind the famous "Warning Prophecy" that Virginia Brandt Berg received in the mid 60-ies, although I believe this is a somewhat different kind of confusion. During the night Virginia received a prophecy from the lord, she got up and wrote it down. She herself did not quite understand what it meant. It went like this,
"TURN YOUR EYES TOWARD MEMPHIS (EGYPT), FOR OUT OF IT SHALL COME THE GREAT CONFUSION!
The author of Confusion is even now marshalling his forces for this Great Confusion!
He is gathering his forces from a great nation and Eastern nations, friends that will join with him.
So sudden will be the Great Confusion, that it will cause a mighty widening of the eyes of those who have not discerned the signs of the times. But be ye not deceived! Be prepared! And be not deceived by the Great Society, for it will come to travail and then bring forth the Great Confusion!
Be prepared! Even now, the skies are red, red with warning, and black, black with clouds gathering for the Great Confusion which is almost upon you!"
This prophecy is talking about a sudden confusion coming from a specific direction triggering an earth-shaking event. - Possibly a great economic crash and an upsetting of the power balance in the World leading up to the revelation of the "Man of Sin" - the Antichrist.
In any case it seems like "confusion" is one of the defining aspects of the times we are living in.
I take comfort in the fact that Jesus said, "Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known." ~ Matthew 10:26
"Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God." ~ 1 Corinthians 4:5
